Question 1

How to store Koala Kare Stainless Steel KB134 SSLD Recess for maximum shelf life?

Accepted Answer

This unit doesn't have a "shelf life" in the consumable sense; it's commercial equipment. For maximum preservation prior to installation, it should be stored in its original packaging in a dry, temperate indoor environment to prevent any superficial damage or corrosion to the finish. Ensure it's kept away from harsh chemicals or abrasive materials during storage to protect the 304 brushed stainless steel. Once properly installed, its longevity depends on regular maintenance and appropriate use, rather than a storage-dependent shelf life.

Question 2

Is Koala Kare Stainless Steel KB134 SSLD Recess compatible with standard commercial machines?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB134-SSLD is a liner dispenser for baby changing stations, not a component for "standard commercial machines" like food service equipment or laundry systems. Its primary compatibility is with sanitary changing table liners, specifically designed to dispense about 100 at a time. It is built to complement Koala baby changing stations, such as the Koala Kare Durable Mount Stainless Steel Baby Changing Station (CP-WEB-520KB310SSWM), and is also versatile enough to work with other brands of changing tables that utilize standard-sized liners.

Question 3

What materials is Koala Kare Stainless Steel KB134 SSLD Recess made of?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB134-SSLD Recess Mount Sanitary Changing Station Table Liner Dispenser is constructed from 304 brushed stainless steel. This specific grade of stainless steel is selected for its superior durability, inherent resistance to corrosion, and ease of cleaning, which are all critical attributes for equipment used in demanding, high-traffic commercial washroom environments. The brushed finish not only provides a professional aesthetic but also helps to minimize the visibility of fingerprints and minor abrasions, contributing to its long-term appearance.

Question 4

How to maintain Koala Kare Stainless Steel KB134 SSLD Recess for long-term use?

Accepted Answer

For long-term use and to preserve its professional appearance, the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD requires consistent cleaning using a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner or a general multi-surface cleaner. It is crucial to avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemical agents, as these can scratch the brushed finish or cause irreversible discolouration. Regularly inspect the internal dispensing mechanism for any accumulated dust or debris to ensure smooth liner delivery, and periodically confirm that the mounting screws remain secure, particularly in frequently used facilities.

Question 5

What are the typical dimensions for the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD recess mount liner dispenser?

Accepted Answer

While exact dimensions for the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD are not specified, as a recess mount unit, it is designed to fit flush within a wall cavity. This typically means the main body would require a precise cutout in the wall, with the faceplate extending slightly beyond to cover the edges of the opening. This recess design minimizes protrusion into the restroom space, enhancing accessibility and maintaining a clean, integrated look, often conforming to standard commercial building requirements for wall-mounted fixtures.

Question 6

What is the expected lifespan of the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD under typical commercial use?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB134-SSLD, fabricated from 304 brushed stainless steel, is engineered for a very extensive operational life in demanding commercial settings. Stainless steel is renowned for its exceptional resistance to corrosion, impact, and general wear and tear from frequent public use, making it highly durable. With consistent cleaning, proper maintenance, and protection from intentional vandalism, operators can confidently expect this unit to perform reliably for many years, often well exceeding a decade, serving as a robust, long-term fixture in a well-managed facility.

Question 7

What is the recommended cleaning and maintenance procedure for the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD dispenser?

Accepted Answer

Maintaining the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD involves routine cleaning of its 304 brushed stainless steel exterior using a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel surfaces. It is essential to strictly avoid abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or harsh chemical agents, as these can permanently damage the brushed finish. Internally, periodically check and wipe down the liner storage area to ensure it remains free of dust or debris that could impede liner dispensing. Additionally, regular inspection of the wall mounting hardware confirms the unit remains securely fixed, especially in high-traffic environments.

Question 8

How many liners can the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD dispenser hold?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB134-SSLD liner dispenser is designed with a generous capacity, capable of holding approximately 100 sanitary changing table liners. This substantial capacity ensures an ample supply for busy restrooms, significantly reducing the frequency of restocking by custodial staff. For operators managing high-traffic facilities or planning for large events, this capacity is crucial for maintaining continuous service and high hygiene standards without constant attention to refilling.

Question 9

Is the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD compatible with different brands of changing stations?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD liner dispenser is designed for versatile compatibility. While it perfectly complements Koala baby changing stations, such as the Koala Kare Vertical Recess Mount Stainless Steel Baby Changing Station (CP-WEB-520KB311SSRE), it is also engineered to work effectively with various other brands of baby changing stations. This flexibility allows operators to integrate the KB134-SSLD into existing washroom setups regardless of the changing table manufacturer, ensuring a consistent supply of sanitary liners.

Question 10

Why should a facility choose a recess mount liner dispenser like the KB134-SSLD over a surface mount unit?

Accepted Answer

Choosing a recess mount liner dispenser like the KB134-SSLD offers several operational advantages over a surface mount unit, particularly in commercial environments. Its flush-to-wall installation creates a sleek, integrated aesthetic that enhances the overall professional appearance of the washroom. More importantly, recess mounting minimizes protrusion from the wall, reducing the risk of accidental bumps or vandalism in high-traffic areas and contributing to compliance with accessibility standards by keeping pathways clear. This design offers a more robust and permanent installation.

Question 11

Can the Koala Kare KB134-SSLD be used in outdoor or semi-outdoor settings?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB134-SSLD is explicitly designed for indoor, commercial restroom environments. Its 304 brushed stainless steel construction provides excellent resistance to typical indoor moisture and cleaning agents but is not rated for continuous exposure to harsh outdoor elements like direct rain, extreme temperatures, or prolonged UV radiation. For outdoor or semi-outdoor applications, specialized weather-resistant equipment with different material specifications and sealing would be required to ensure durability and prevent premature wear or corrosion.

Question 12

What benefits does the 304 brushed stainless steel material offer for the KB134-SSLD dispenser?

Accepted Answer

The 304 brushed stainless steel material of the KB134-SSLD offers significant benefits for commercial use. This grade of stainless steel is highly prized for its exceptional corrosion resistance, crucial in moist restroom environments. It also provides superior strength and durability, making the dispenser resistant to impact and general wear and tear, extending its operational lifespan. The brushed finish is practical, as it effectively conceals fingerprints and minor scuffs, helping to maintain a clean and professional appearance even in high-traffic public facilities.
