Question 1

How to store Koala Kare White Granite Surface Mounted Baby for maximum shelf life?

Accepted Answer

This Koala Kare KB300-05 changing station is a piece of equipment, not a consumable, so "shelf life" doesn't apply in the traditional sense. For maximum durability before installation, store the unit in its original packaging in a dry, climate-controlled area away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Keeping it protected from impacts during storage will prevent cosmetic damage to the white granite finish and ensure all components are intact for when you're ready to mount it. This prevents any premature wear or degradation of the materials.

Question 2

Is Koala Kare White Granite Surface Mounted Baby compatible with standard commercial machines?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB300-05 White Granite Surface-Mounted Baby Changing Station is not designed to be compatible with other "commercial machines" in the typical sense of food service equipment. It's a fixed facility fixture. Its compatibility lies with standard commercial washroom layouts and construction methods. The unit is surface-mounted, meaning it requires appropriate wall structure for secure installation, fitting into most standard commercial washroom designs that can accommodate its dimensions and mounting requirements.

Question 3

What materials is Koala Kare White Granite Surface Mounted Baby made of?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB300-05 White Granite Baby Changing Station is primarily constructed from durable, high-density polyethylene plastic. This material is chosen for its strength, ease of cleaning, and resistance to impact in high-traffic environments. It features a "white granite" finish, which refers to the aesthetic appearance and colour of the material, not actual stone. Importantly, the surface incorporates Microban antimicrobial technology directly into the material during manufacturing.

Question 4

How to maintain Koala Kare White Granite Surface Mounted Baby for long-term use?

Accepted Answer

For long-term use of the Koala Kare KB300-05, regular cleaning and inspection are key. Wipe down all surfaces daily with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth to maintain the white granite finish and Microban efficacy; avoid harsh chemicals that could degrade the plastic. Periodically inspect the child safety strap for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage, and ensure the buckle functions correctly. Also, check the mounting hardware for tightness and the liner dispensers for proper function and adequate stock.

Question 5

What are the dimensions and weight specifications of the Koala Kare KB300-05?

Accepted Answer

While specific exterior dimensions are not provided in the product description, the Koala Kare KB300-05 is a horizontal surface-mounted unit designed to fit into standard commercial washroom spaces. It is engineered to safely accommodate a maximum recommended weight capacity of 50 lbs. This capacity is critical for ensuring the safety of children during use and is a primary specification for facility planners.

Question 6

How long does this Koala Kare changing station last under typical commercial use?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB300-05 is built for long-term durability in high-traffic commercial settings. Its construction from robust materials, combined with ASTM F2285 static load performance compliance, means it's designed to withstand years of consistent use when properly installed and maintained. Operators should expect a lifespan comparable to other permanent facility fixtures, contingent on adherence to cleaning protocols and regular safety checks.

Question 7

What is the recommended cleaning and maintenance procedure for the Koala Kare KB300-05?

Accepted Answer

To maintain the Koala Kare KB300-05, daily cleaning with a mild, non-abrasive soap and water solution is recommended for the white granite surface. The integrated Microban antimicrobial technology actively inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria between cleanings, but routine manual cleaning is still essential for hygiene. Regularly inspect the safety strap and its buckle for damage, and check the mounting hardware for secure attachment to the wall. Ensure the dual liner dispensers are always stocked with fresh liners.

Question 8

Why does the Koala Kare KB300-05 include Microban antimicrobial surface technology?

Accepted Answer

The inclusion of Microban antimicrobial surface technology in the Koala Kare KB300-05 is a key feature to enhance hygiene in public facilities. This additive works continuously to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mould, and mildew on the changing station's surface. In high-traffic environments like commercial washrooms, this provides an extra layer of cleanliness, contributing to a more sanitary experience for users and reducing the maintenance burden of keeping the unit fresh.

Question 9

What is the significance of the 50 lb weight capacity for this changing station?

Accepted Answer

The 50 lb maximum recommended weight capacity for the Koala Kare KB300-05 is a crucial safety specification. This rating indicates the unit's structural integrity and ability to securely support an infant or toddler during diaper changes. Professional buyers must adhere to this limit to prevent potential injury and ensure compliance with safety standards, making it suitable for a wide range of young children typically found in public spaces.

Question 10

Does the Koala Kare KB300-05 meet Canadian safety or accessibility standards for public washrooms?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB300-05 changing station complies with ASTM F2285 static load performance requirements, a key safety standard for these types of units. While specific Canadian accessibility (e.g., AODA or provincial building codes) or health regulations regarding commercial baby changing stations can vary by jurisdiction, this unit's robust design and safety features generally align with the expectations for public facility equipment. Operators should verify local building codes regarding installation height and clear floor space.

Question 11

How does the dual liner dispenser benefit operations in a commercial setting?

Accepted Answer

The built-in dual liner dispenser on the Koala Kare KB300-05 offers significant operational efficiency by providing space for up to 50 liners, 25 per dispenser. This high capacity reduces the frequency of restocking, which is particularly beneficial in busy commercial washrooms or during peak hours. Ensuring liners are readily available improves user convenience and encourages hygienic practices, ultimately streamlining staff duties and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Question 12

Can I easily install the Koala Kare KB300-05 changing station in an existing washroom?

Accepted Answer

The Koala Kare KB300-05 is designed as a surface-mounted unit, which simplifies installation compared to recessed models, making it suitable for existing washrooms without extensive wall modification. Proper installation requires securing the unit directly to structural elements within the wall for stability, given its 50 lb capacity rating. Facilities should consult the manufacturer's installation instructions and local building codes to ensure correct and safe mounting.
