Preparation and Cooking Instructions
• Yield / 2 squares (23 x 23 x 5 cm)
• Mix / Weight / 1 kg Full Bag / Measure / 1.5 L
• Water / Weight / 500 g / Measure / 500 ml
• DRY INGREDIENT MEASURE
• Break up lumps prior to measuring. Cake mix is lightly shaken down, but not firmly packed. For best results, weigh all
• ingredients.
• METHOD
• Preheat oven to required temperature. Place cake mix in electric mixer bowl. Add half of the water. Beat at low speed
• for 1 minute; scrape bowl. Add remaining water and continue beating at low speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl
• occasionally. Total beating time: 3 minutes (if hand mixing, beat a total of 4 minutes).
• NOTE: If milk is substituted for water, use 550 ml per kg of mix. Grease pans, lining with waxed paper if cakes are to
• be turned out of pans. To make any of the following cakes from 2 kg of mix (2 full bags), double the measurement guide
• above and use baking times given below:
• STANDARD HOME OVEN
• One Sheet Cake (58 x 38 x 3 cm) / One Two Layer Cake (2 – 30 x 5 cm rounds) / Two Square Cakes (23 x 23 x 5 cm
• squares)
• – Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 – 35 minutes.
• CONVECTION OVEN One Sheet Cake (58 x 38 x 3 cm)
• – Bake at 160°C (325°F) for 20 – 25 minutes.
• One Two Layer Cake (2 – 30 x 5 cm rounds) / Two Square Cakes (23 x 23 x 5 cm squares)
• – Bake at 160°C (325°F) for 25 – 30 minutes.
• Cool cakes in pans on wire rack for 20 – 30 minutes. Remove from pans; cool and frost (sheet cake may be frosted in
• pan).
