Drink Mixes, Concentrates & Drink Bases
Drink crystals, Gatorade concentrate, chai concentrate, fruit purees, slush bases and protein powders for Canadian cafes, camps, schools, worksites and bars.
ChickenPieces.com sells drink mixes and bases by the case: Gatorade liquid concentrate, Tazo chai, Real puree-infused syrups, Monin, 1883 Maison Routin, Dr. Oetker and Gordon Choice drink crystals, and slush concentrates.
Concentrates and crystals cut shipping weight and storage space because the water is added on site. Camps, schools and worksites use drink crystals and Gatorade concentrate; cafes and bars use purees, chai and syrups.

One 3.78 L (1 gallon) jug of Gatorade liquid concentrate makes up to 6 gallons, about 22.7 L, of ready-to-drink Gatorade when mixed 1 part concentrate to 5 parts cold water. That is about 38 servings of 591 mL, or about 64 cups of 355 mL. A 4-jug case makes about 91 L. Teams and worksites mix it in insulated coolers and keep concentrate sealed and unrefrigerated until opening.
Drink crystals, such as Gordon Choice and Dr. Oetker lemonade, iced tea and fruit punch in 425 g containers, are mixed with water on site, so each container makes several litres of drink and the exact yield is printed on the label. Crystals are the lowest-cost way to serve cold drinks to large groups because a case weighs a fraction of the same drink in bottles. Mix in clean jugs with cold water, stir until fully dissolved, and keep made-up drink refrigerated and used within 24 hours.
A fruit puree contains real fruit pulp and is used for smoothies, cocktails and lemonades where body and colour matter; it must be refrigerated after opening. A syrup is sugar, water and flavour, clear and pourable, used by the pump in coffee and sodas. A concentrate is a full drink with the water removed, such as chai or Gatorade concentrate, and is mixed at a fixed ratio. Puree-infused syrups such as Real combine fruit pulp with syrup so they pour easily but still taste like fruit.
Opened fruit purees keep about 7 to 14 days refrigerated. Opened chai concentrate keeps about 7 to 10 days refrigerated. Puree-infused syrups such as Real keep several weeks refrigerated once opened. Gatorade concentrate should be refrigerated after opening and used within a few days. Drink crystals keep until the best-before date if the lid is closed tightly and moisture is kept out. Always follow the storage line on each label.
A typical scoop of protein powder is about 30 to 40 g of powder and supplies about 20 to 25 g of protein, depending on the product. A 2 kg tub of plant protein therefore gives roughly 50 to 65 servings. Peanut butter powder is lower in fat than peanut butter and is mixed into smoothies, oatmeal and sauces at about 2 tablespoons per serving. Check the nutrition facts panel for the exact scoop size of each product.
