Milk Waste Calculator
Litres bought against litres that reached a cup. What goes down the sink every week and every year.
All of it, dairy and alternatives, from the invoices.
From the till: lattes, flat whites, cappuccinos, hot chocolates.
Not what you steam. What fits in the cup. 190 for a 12 oz latte.
How this is calculated
Litres used = drinks × ml in the cup ÷ 1000. Waste = litres bought − litres used.
Blended price = dairy × (1 − alt share) + alternative × alt share. Weekly cost = waste × blended price.
Under 10% is a tight bar. 10 to 20% is normal and fixable with smaller jugs. Over 20% is a training problem.
Prices are before GST/HST. Add tax on top of the price shown, never inside your margin. Estimates, not advice.
